Pula
The village of Pula has a population of about 7.000 and stands very close to the sea, along State Road 195 from Cagliari running along the south-western coast. There a crystal-clear sea bordered with long white beaches with light and fine sand, tall cliffs and small protected bays, thousand hectares of wild and unpolluted woodlands and forests. A place where interesting excursions can be experienced within a few kilometres, diving into a luxurious nature; but also a place where you trip over traditions and culture in a burst of colours, scents and sensations that will make you fall in love with this south-western coast of Sardinia. the ruins of Nota, where the Phoenician-Punic portion can easily be distinguished from the Roman one, with its well-preserved theatre, are a place of great interest for a visit. Craftwork, iron and woodworking activities thrive at Pula. In summer time several religious and folk festivals are held, in addition to cultural events. The village is full of hotels, restaurants and shops, and entertainment, traditions, crafts and gastronomy prevail.
Beaches.
Among the most charming and famous beaches located nearby, let us only mention the following ones: the beach of Nora, where the historical tower bearing the same name can be seen, the beautiful and large white beaches of Chia, Cala Cipolla and the scenic Tuarredda beach.
How to get there.
Cagliari 30 km.: Harbour – Airport. All the locations of the south-western coast can easily be reached by leaving the main place and taking coast road SS 195 and the new section that partly bypasses Sarroch and Pula inland and resumes the shoreline ahead of Santa Margherita di Pula. The same road gets to Domus de Maria and then goes inland towards Sant’Anna Arresi.
